The 9 best resorts in Coorg
Evolve Back, Coorg
The newly renamed Evolve Back, once known as Orange County Resort, retains its courtyard as the best place to stay in Coorg. The resort offers 43 villas (all with private swimming pools) in various categories, set up by Chikkana Halli Estate, a coffee farm with a 300-acre spice plantation. Heritage villas in the Kodava style of stone and brick architecture are made, toped by Coorg’s traditional sloping tiled roof.
The Casita resort
The Casita resort offers 17 rooms and cottage apartments set amidst swinging palm trees, just off Madikeri-Kushalnagar Road via Coorg. The rooms are decorated in bright colors and feature all basic facilities and bathrooms. The resort provides rooms for families and groups and elegant thatched-roof cottages for 4 to 8 guests. South Indian specialties and a bakery menu are served in the Casita. The restaurant provides no meals except for breakfast, although an open barbecue can be arranged at night on request.
Old Kent Estates
Go back in time to the British Raj period in Old Kent Estates, a restored lodge surrounded by an English garden with a 200-acre plantation of coffee and thick woods. The patrimony goes back to the 19th century, where the reception hall, dining room, library, game room, and theater now house a colonial-style accommodation. The eight-holiday homes in the resort provide plenty of privacy in the property. Each house has antiques and a large bathroom with a sky roof and local items for bathrooms. Each house has natural furnishings. There is also a well-kept private garden with outdoor seating in each cottage.
The Tamara
The Tamara Coorg is a luxurious hideaway, surrounded by luxurious greenery of coffee, pepper, and cardamom plantations, grumbling streams, and waterfalls. A number of holiday villas built on stalactites are available in the 56-key resort. All cottages are made of warm wood, pastel colors, and elegant furniture and feature big picture windows overlooking the Coorg valley. Sprinkle on one of two cottages with a double bedroom, a wide living room, and a sundeck with loungers and a Jacuzzi, in order for anything unique.
The IBNII
The IBNII is a breathtaking luxury resort spread over 125 acres of coffee grounds, which is ideal for a solo trip. The residence provides 22 villas with a swimming pool, 10 wooden cottages with sea views, and a luxury suite of ‘poinsettia.’ The apartments and villas include an open tub, an infinity pool, and a whirlpool. The IBNII is the first eco-luxury resort in India to earn platinum certification from the Indian Green Building Council for its many green initiatives, such as rainwater harvesting and plastic-free production facilities.
Taj Madikeri Resort & Spa
The Taj Madikeri Resort & Spa is the luxury offer of the Taj Group in Coorg, surrounded by a rainforest of 180 acres. The Villas of the Pool are the ultimate luxury: 3300 square meters of space and a four-foot, fully enclosed swimming pool and a completely retractable roof.
Club Mahindra Madikeri
Club Mahindra Madikeri is a favorite company with holiday families spread across the hillside next to a coffee plantation. Its 220 rooms provide excellent views of the Western Ghats surrounding. There are many room options and up to four adults and two children can be accommodated in the largest. All elegantly furnished rooms are equipped with a kitchenette with a microwave as well as tea and coffee facilities. Purple Palms Resort & Spa
Purple Palms Resort & SPA is situated right off the highway near Kushalnagar and is suitable for business travelers and business tourists. The hotel has 68 modern rooms and suites, with violet accents, but all of them are very pleasant to the eye. The Panorama rooms at the entrance level overlook either the pool or the coffee factory. Garden-facing rooms at the Courtyard have a private balcony with a coffee table and a large living space, a dining room, two bathrooms, and a private balcony at the Peaberry Suites.
Zostel Coorg
Hostels in Coorg and Zostel are few and far away. Coorg has located a large distance from the two main towns in the district, Madikeri, and Kushalnagar. However rarely, Zostel is concealed in a lush coffee and forest and has been built as a typical Coorgi house — a single-story building with a slanted tile roof. Accommodation includes four mixed bedding rooms (with a total of 28 beds), a female six-bedded dorm, and a shared bathroom with two outside tents. Sleeping areas are clean and have linens that must be rented for towels.
