Some serious travel hackers recommend putting the food in the kettle itself is best and used a mug or a bowl at the very least.

Iron Wizardry?

Some of this requires a lot of courage but in a way, it is possible to stand your iron upside down and use it as a grill, or push down on the items of food to be cooked also. All of this needs tin foil and patience and balance, but in theory, you CAN make almost anything from a grilled cheese sandwich right down to bacon and eggs using the hotel’s iron.
