If I were to think of any winter trek, especially for beginners, then my first favourite would be the Triund and Laka glacier treks. Least marketed but one of the most beautiful winter treks in the range of 10,500 feet. This trek will offer you breathtaking scenery along a thrilling adventure trek route. If you have limited time or no prior trekking experience, then you should opt for this trek. This 16-kilometer trek, starting from Mcleodganj (Dharamshala), will give you goosebumps at many places along the route, and the bold Dhauladhar range will accompany you throughout your journey.

Starting from Sankri village, this trek will take you to Juda Ka Talab, which is believed to be the meditating ground of Lord Shiva. Then we move to Kedarkantha base camp, and the next day we give a summit push that starts at 2 AM with the aim of reaching the summit before sunrise. This beautiful and exciting trek will take you through the dense forest of oak and deodar and ultimately to the beautiful lake, Kareri Lake, which is also called Kareri Dal by locals.
